August 12 - 22 - Vancouver Queer Film Festival

Come out and play at the 22nd Annual Vancouver Queer Film Festival! Vancouver’s second largest film festival presents 90 diverse films from over a dozen countries.  As the city's second largest film festival, we privilege creative innovation and audience experience. Each summer, this celebrated event brings people together to watch incredible films, talk to filmmakers and artists, engage in scintillating discussions, experience unexpected performances and paint the town pink! Dive into provocative documentaries, stunning dramas and spicy romances.Then join in this summer’s most outrageous parties and find out why being #2 is way more fun than being #1.

August 26 – Youth in 57 Minutes Battle of the Bands 2010  

Five bands, chosen from a large group of applicants, compete in front of a panel of judges and fans for fantastic prizes to further their muscial ambition! It’s a concert with the edge of a competition.

August 29 - Annual Co-op Radio Potluck Picnic!

Feel free to invite your friends and family to this annual event! Please bring a plate, utensils, a drink for yourself, and a dish to share. It will be a wonderful end to a spectacular summer, and a great chance to relax and to celebrate yet another year of Co-op Radio!

  Location: SE side of Trout Lake (John Hendry Park)

  Cost: Free!

September 18 - Harvesting the Past, Sowing the Future: Co-operative Organizing in Vancouver

In celebration of our 35th anniversary, Vancouver Co-op Radio is organizing a panel discussion, facilitated by Marty Frost of the Federation of Worker Co-ops of BC, around growth of co-operatives or alternative organizations in Vancouver. The speaker's panel will be followed by a lengthy discussion and question period, followed by a social.

   Location: Rhizome Cafe - 317 E Broadway, Unceded Coast Salish territory

   Cost: $10 suggested donation

   Time: 6:45 pm - 12:00 am
