Volunteering in Member Services and Community Engagement

Check out the tasks we have available for volunteers in this department and find one that works best for you.

Are you good on the phone?

If so, we need you. Believe it or not, not everyone likes to make phone calls. We need a team of phone callers to:

  • make calls and answer phones during our twice annual Member Drives. The next Drive is October 14 - 23, 2016 and
                we are planning specific phoning days the afternoons of Sunday, October 16 and 23, and the evening of Thursday, October 20;
  • make calls to thank people for donations at other times;
  • to make follow-up phone calls to remind members to renew (after they've been sent an email) outside of Member Drives

If you are interested in one or more of these tasks, please contact Director of Member Services Pamela Bentley at, or even better, call her at 604-684-8494 ext. 230. You would be using the phone in-station and training will be provided.  Or if you prefer, you can make the calls from home.

Do you like to meet new people?

We need people to represent Co-op Radio at events.

Tabling opportunities are coming up this summer. Contact our Community Engagement Coordinator, Laurence Gatinel at if you are interested in representing Co-op Radio at many of the fun festivals this summer.
Look for us at the Vancouver Folkfest July 15 - 17 and Jamaica Day July 31.

We will also have a contingent in the Vancouver Pride Parade July 31, and need help with making signs to carry and decorations for bikes. You can be one of the people in the parade showing how we are "Better Together" (the theme of this year's Pride).

At other times of the year, Co-op Radio has a table at such events as Vancouver Latin American Film Festival, May Day, and events put on by other groups that have community partnerships with the station. This usually involves about a four hour shift.  Materials and training are provided.  More information is here

Can you help distribute Listener's Guides?

Twice a year, we print Listener's Guides which includes news and our current on-air schedule. We need to get these out into the wide world of Greater Vancouver Regional District. If you have a vehicle and some time twice a year, please read the description and details here and here.

an you help out generally with administrative tasks and data entry?

Help is needed to implement ideas and take care of details working with Pam, our Director of Member Services and Fundraising. You could help with mail-outs, data entry, filing, etc.
