WHAT IS MAC?

The Community Radio Education Society (CRES) runs the Media Arts Committee (MAC), which is dedicated to serving, supporting, and building on the sound art and experimental audio community in Vancouver as well as supporting audio artists from around the world.  The focus of the program is on local and Canadian sound artists; however, proposals from international applicants will be considered.

The MAC program offers artists and members the opportunity to borrow professional audio equipment.

MAC offers a Sound Artist in Residence program for emerging sound artists, an Audio Art Commissioning series, and a variety of workshops and events with experienced guest and in station facilitators.

The Director of Technical Services at Vancouver Co-operative Radio is the main contact for MAC.

The activities of MAC are made possible through the generous support of the Canada Council for the Arts, as well as the membership of CFRO 100.5 FM Coop Radio.
